Felixstowe International College prides itself on
providing a curriculum that is not only based on the English
National Curriculum, but is also enjoyable, broad and
challenging.
Class sizes vary
from 2 to 6 for most subjects, enabling a great deal of individual
attention to be given to each pupil. Our staff are used to working
with overseas pupils and are sensitive to the difficulties that they
often encounter.
Special emphasis is placed on language teaching
and learning. Pupils spend a large proportion of their time receiving
intensive English tuition in the specialist EFL (English as a
Foreign Language) department.
Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing
are all covered. All pupils take the appropriate level of examinations
in English set by the University of Cambridge Local Examination
Syndicate as well as IGCSE (International General Certificate
of Secondary Education) examinations. Subjects taught are: English,
Science, Maths, IT, History, Geography, Spanish, Art, Music and
PE. Teaching hours are set a daily 2-3 hours of prep.
Recent examination results have been outstanding, with pupils
achieving the highest grades at IGCSE, IELTS, PET and KET etc.
